At the heart of our pedagogy is the wisdom of Maria Montessori: "The greatest gifts we can give children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence." Little Vines Nursery and Kindergarten nurtures these gifts through a learning environment that values independence, connection and real-life opportunities. Our holistic approach is centred on individualised instruction from our caring and highly qualified staff and on self-paced learning, acknowledging that every child is unique and develops at their own pace.
In Little Vines' calm and beautiful surroundings children are given the time and space to develop a love of learning and become fully themselves as well as making outstanding progress.
Parents and carers make a crucial difference to children's outcomes. We work closely with our families to offer continual guidance and support to ensure the best outcomes for their child at every stage of their educational journey. Parents must feel included, listened to and trusted within their own role, supporting their child’s wellbeing, development and learning. We offer parental workshops each term on a range of subjects; recent examples include Good Routines, Nurturing Safe and Healthy Eating Habits and Wellbeing. Our door is always open for a chat!

We offer wrap-around care for all pupils for 50 weeks of the year and a range of after-school clubs, giving parents the option of flexible times to fit in with work and family commitments.
For Nursery children from 2-3 years of age, this runs from 8.00am to 5.30pm all year round. For children from 3-7 years of age, this runs from 8.00am to 6.00pm during term time, and from 8.00am to 5.30pm during the holidays.
There is a minimum obligation of three morning sessions per week in Nursery and four morning sessions per week in Kindergarten. This is to provide the best outcomes for all children, and to ensure that a routine is quickly and easily established.
We offer a bespoke transition package designed to suit the needs of each individual child. This often starts with a weekly invitation to our Messy Monkey toddler group on a Friday morning, which gives an opportunity to meet staff and other families, before more time is spent in the Nursery.
Thank you so much for showing us around. I have to say we were blown away by the Nursery and Pre-Prep and, having seen other nurseries, they just don’t compare.
One of the things we absolutely love is how much time the children spend outdoors - it's such a refreshing change and something our son thrives on. There's a real sense of belonging here; not just for the children but for the parents too.
It’s amazing how my child has learnt all of these new skills and abilities, but is almost completely unaware that he is learning in any real way, as you and the team are so great at letting them find their way through just having a huge amount of fun. To be starting to read and write is amazing and it makes us so proud of him and grateful for such wonderful teachers.
I feel incredibly lucky to have found a school and nursery setting where the pastoral care and character building is focused on so amazingly and brought to the fore. My son has become so rounded and grown in confidence, and I’m sure that this is in no small part down to your guidance and input on a daily basis.
