  • School Visit

Marlborough House Vinehall School offers a happy, nurturing and inspiring environment for boys and girls from the age of 2 through to Year 8, across our Nursery, Pre-Prep and Prep. The best way to discover what makes each part of our school so special is to come and see for yourself. You’ll have the opportunity to meet our wonderful staff and children, and explore our outstanding facilities.

    International Families

We warmly welcome applications from families based overseas and understand that visiting the school in person may not always be possible. If you are unable to travel to Marlborough House Vinehall before making an application, we are happy to offer alternative ways to help you get to know us.

We will arrange a video call with our Head, Eddy Newton, giving you the opportunity to learn more about life at MHV, our educational approach, pastoral care, and the day-to-day experience for children across all year groups. This call is also a chance for you to ask any questions you may have - whether about boarding, our curriculum, or the admissions process.

In addition, we can provide virtual tours, detailed information packs, and help guide you through every step of the application and enrolment process. Our Admissions Manager, Liz Powis, will be on hand to support you throughout, ensuring that your transition to Marlborough House Vinehall is as smooth and reassuring as possible — no matter where in the world you are joining us from.

If you would like to book a tour of MHV, please complete the form below. Alternatively, contact Liz Powis, Admissions Manager on admissions@mhvschool.co.uk

  • Registration

Following your visit, you can reserve a place for your child by completing our Registration Form and paying a non-refundable registration fee of £150. Children can begin their journey at Marlborough House Vinehall as early as age 2 in Little Vines Nursery.

As places are limited, we always recommend early registration to avoid disappointment.

  • Taster Day

There’s no better way for your child to get a true sense of life at Marlborough House Vinehall than by spending a day with us. We are pleased to offer Taster Days for children interested in joining either our Pre-Prep (Reception to Year 2) or Prep (Years 3 to 8). These can be arranged at a date and time that works best for you and your child.

Each Taster Day is carefully tailored to help your child feel welcomed and confident. They will be paired with a friendly buddy, who will accompany them throughout the day, introducing them to their classmates and helping them settle in. Your child will take part in a full programme of lessons and activities, giving them the chance to experience our broad and balanced curriculum, meet our dedicated teachers, and get a real feel for our happy and supportive learning environment.

We understand that making the right choice for your child’s education is a big decision, which is why we’re happy to arrange multiple Taster Days if needed - helping both you and your child to feel completely at ease.

  • International Pupil Assessments

At Marlborough House Vinehall, we welcome applications from international pupils and are delighted to support families from around the world through the admissions process. To ensure we understand each applicant’s individual strengths and needs, there are a few key steps involved.

Once the application form has been completed and submitted, pupils will be invited to take part in computer-based entrance assessments, primarily focusing on English language skills. These assessments help us gain a clear picture of each child's academic level and language proficiency, which is important for ensuring the right support and placement within the school.

In addition to the assessments, all international applicants will have an online interview with a member of staff. This is a friendly and informal conversation designed to get to know the pupil beyond their academic abilities. It provides an opportunity for them to share their interests, hobbies, and personal experiences, while also allowing them to ask any questions they may have about life at Marlborough House Vinehall.

Throughout this process, our Admissions team is on hand to support families every step of the way, ensuring the journey to joining our school is smooth, informative, and welcoming.

  • Settling in Session

We understand how important it is for both children and parents to feel confident and prepared when joining a new setting. Once a place has been accepted, we offer a carefully planned settling-in process to support a smooth and happy start to life at Marlborough House Vinehall.

    Nursery

Before your child joins Little Vines Nursery, you will be invited to attend a settling-in session with your child. This provides an opportunity for you to meet the Nursery team and for them to learn more about your child - including their likes and dislikes, daily routines, family background, and developmental progress. This vital session helps our staff tailor care to your child’s individual needs, ensuring a calm and confident transition into Nursery life.

    Pre-Prep and Prep

Before your child starts in Pre-Prep or Prep, you will receive a detailed information pack with everything you need to know to help your child settle into school life at MHV. In addition, we will introduce you to the class representative for your child’s year group, so you can begin connecting with other parents and, if you wish, arrange playdates or meet-ups before the first day. This helps both children and families feel part of the Marlborough House Vinehall community from the very beginning.

  • Next Steps

We understand how important it is for both children and parents to feel part of the school community from the very beginning. Our dedicated class social reps will be in touch ahead of your child’s start date to help you connect with other families, arrange informal meet-ups, and begin building friendships within the Marlborough House Vinehall community.

We warmly invite children who are due to join us to return for as many settling-in visits as they like during the preceding terms. These visits help each child become familiar with their new environment, build confidence, and feel part of school life before their official start.

On their first day and beyond, every new pupil is paired with a friendly 'buddy' to guide them through their first weeks, helping them feel welcomed and supported. Our staff team keeps a close eye on all new joiners to ensure they are settling in happily, both academically and socially, and to provide additional support wherever needed - ensuring a smooth and positive transition to life at Marlborough House Vinehall.
